RESTORATIVE STRUCTURAL DRYING
6 credits, CE Course: VA#C58128, MD#C58213, DC#00013608
Instructor: Chris Coffin
Date: November 11th
Time: 9am - 4pm
We would like to offer you an opportunity to benefit from reduced claim severities and improve the service you provide to policyholders. We have created a training program designed to educate you and your staff about how science and new technology enable us to reduce the size of many of your property losses. The concept is called restorative structural drying and is a result of applied science and an emphasis on drying all structural materials without having to replace them. In this class you will learn how the science of evaporation, dehumidification and temperature control can be used to reduce and prevent damage and the need for re construction.
Your policyholders are not trained to think about things like the permeance of building materials. They do not understand how improper management of the variables of airflow, temperature and humidity can lead to long term damage and even unhealthy indoor air quality, not to mention the need for tear out and replacement if not dried properly. These are aspects of the science of drying applied by a restorative drying professional in order to save structural components including walls, flooring (not just carpets!) and even contents.
If a restorative drying professional is called out very early in the loss, many dollars can be saved by drying out materials, preventing the need for tear out and replacement. The result is less damage, lower cost, faster - closure of claims and satisfied policyholders.
